NOW THAT THE HORSES HAVE BOLTED - NOW AVAILABLE

Posted Wednesday, August 13, 2008

Collectively we are proud to announce the release of the new double cd from Simon London + the Spirits: Now That The Horses Have Bolted!

The new release showcases both aspects of Simon's songwriting - the hard rocking tunes as presented by the Spirits and the more intimate and acoustic solo songs - via a two cd release.

With disc one, recorded live in a remote farmers cottage in the southwest, Simon London + the Spirits fire up the amplifiers for a raw and rocking delivery of favourites from the band's live set.

The band cd was mixed by Forrester Savell who has established his reputation with his work with Helmet, Karnivool, The Butterfly Effect and a host of other quality acts. The mixing also stayed true to the great sound that Dale Shearsmith captured as the band laid down the tracks by playing live in the Mobrup farmhouse.

Disc two offers a breathy respite as it ambles its way through various acoustic stories and reflections. It was recorded at various stages in studios, farms, backrooms and bedrooms as Simon toured solo around Australia. With sparse instrumentation, the solo cd features one guest appearance from compadre Joel Barker who came in to play some slide guitar and sing.

This disc was mixed and mastered by Shaun O'Callaghan who has recorded with a legion of quality WA acts, not least the likes of John Butler and accordingly, it is a very warm and present recording.
